Occupational Therapy at Outside Now!

Kathleen blends her skills and education as an OT with her experience working with kids of all ages in the natural world. Kathleen’s unique approach looks at the whole child, finding each child’s inherent gifts and worldly challenges. She works with both the child and his/her family to soften and integrate the challenges while strengthening the gifts of each child. Each therapy plan is tailored to the needs of the child and the family including treatment time, treatment location, evaluations, family education and follow up.

Kathleen draws from several idealogies such as:

• Cultural Mentoring/Coyote Mentoring as taught by Jon Young
• DIR or Floortime developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan
• Sensory Integration theory and techniques developed by Dr. Lucy Jane Miller and the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation
