Autumn Festival of the Hunter's Moon
Come join us for music, traditional indoor & outdoor harvest games, nature crafts, face painting, drumming, favors, nature store, prize drawing, bow & arrow demo, and
A Haunted House created by CCVC teens.
Indulge in our seasonal Harvest Feast (additional cost) including Hunter’s stew, roast corn, fresh cider, apple crisp, cornbread, pumpkin cookies and more. There will be a special treat for those who come in nature theme costumes.

Art of Mentoring
Come gather with us and the growing network of mentors, naturalists and permaculturalists creating community based on the Eight Shields Mentoring Model and the traditions of earth based peoples. The second annual week long event takes place within a working village concept in which we all play a part. Elders, children and adults from all corners of the nation (and some internationally) come together to share in a truly transformational experience. Spring/End of Year Celebration
All are welcome to join the CCVC community for an end of the year spring celebration.
There will be food, crafts, music, a maypole and probably mud and water!
Please bring a food item to share and an instrument if you play one!

“Nature as Teacher and Healer”, an evening with Jon Young
Jon will talk about nature as a teacher and healer, he’ll discuss “coyote mentoring” and why we use this model at the CCVC. He’ll explore why this model helps expand brain power and has such positive effects on the children we work with.
If you are a parent or work with children you can’t miss this opportunity to listen to one of the forerunners of wilderness education today.

About Jon Young:
Inspired by his childhood mentoring with tracker and author Tom Brown, Jr., Jon has pioneered blending Native mentoring techniques from around the world with the tools of modern field ecology. Under Jon's guidance, Wilderness Awareness School, which was originally founded as a high school nature club, has grown to reach students all around the world with its programs that help people reconnect with their native environments. Jon has created several popular training tape series and he is the principal author of both The Kamana Naturalist Training Program and The North American Master Shikari Sequence for CyberTracker. Jon continues to serve as a Master Teacher for Wilderness Awareness School programs at the National Level, and the Wilderness Awareness Residential Program. Jon is also founder of Institute of Nature Awareness.
